Oval House announces new 33% Bursaries

Future 33% London.

33% London is a year-round programme of work which supports the professional aspirations of Under 25’s, as directors, writers, and other key creative professionals.

In March this year we will award bursaries of £500 each to six young artists to explore and idea and create a work-in-progress sharing by the summer.

Out of those, 2 will be chosen to be taken to full production for showcasing in 33% 2011, with a further bursary of £1,000 each.

Entry Criteria:

• You will be 25 yrs or under by January 2011
• You will not have worked professionally in the role you seek to take in your 33% London project

Entry Process:
• Submissions to Stef O’Driscoll Stef.Odriscoll@ovalhouse.com (or to the address below) should consist of an account of the project you would like to explore e.g the content, artform and style, your influences, why you are passionate about this project, who the ultimate audience would be. Tell us why you think you have the experience and capability to undertake the work and an outline as to how the £500 would be spent. You will need to include a copy of your CV, and a reference from someone who knows your work as an emerging young artist such as a teacher, youth theatre leader, theatre professional etc. You may also include a DVD of your work if relevant.
• Submission deadline: March 12th
• Interviews / presentations for shortlisted applicants: Sat 20th March
• Bursaries announced: 23rd March.

Rehearsal space (within reason and as agreed with Oval house) will be provided, as will mentoring and minimal technical support.
Financial evidence will be needed for payment of the bursary, which will be paid according to an agreed budget, but it may include claims for travel and other expenses in making the work.
