Diversity and Access in Youth Arts
Calling all arts organisations, freelancers, policy makers and interested parties! This unique and ground breaking conference aims to explore successful strategies in including young people from marginalised backgrounds in various fields of youth arts.
Confirmed contributors are:
Photovoice - photography with young refugees;
Corali- dance and learning disabilities;
198 Gallery - visual arts with young people at risk
Midi Music Company –music and young mental health service users
Dance United- dance and young offenders
Half Moon Young People’s Theatre - disabled young people in inclusive youth theatre
Oval House Theatre- drama and young people at risk
Cardboard Citizens - drama and excluded young people.
Part of the 33% London Festival at Oval House Theatre and supported by Lambeth Arts, the conference is a great opportunity for professional development and for different organisations to come together to share and reflect on their methodologies.
The day includes lunch, tea and coffee and a comprehensive directory of inclusive Youth Arts organisations in London. (If you would like your organisation to be included in this directory please contact Lucinda Cardey at Lucinda.cardey@ovalhouse.com.) There are four short case studies in the morning and in the afternoon there is a choice of five break-out sessions.
