The Venue

Oval House Theatre is a lively theatre and arts centre based on the Kennington Oval right opposite the famous cricket ground. We're easy to find: our building is wrapped in a huge blue banner featuring some of the many artists who have performed or directed work at Oval House in the past!

We're open every day except Sundays. During the day we're open from 10am for rehearsals and clubs, and from 3pm for the Box Office and to visit the Gallery (not Mondays). In the evenings we are open from 6pm for our cafe/bar, gallery and theatres (also not Mondays) and during term times we're open from Monday to Saturday from 5.30pm for youth arts classes. Oval House Theatre is also home to one of London's biggest and best Carnival Bands, South Connections.

Our policy is simple: we provide a warm welcome, respect and support for anyone who wants to participate in the performing arts, whether as an audience member, practitioner, pupil or workshop member.
