Demonstrate! is a participatory arts programme for children and young people aged 8 – 16 years with autism, learning disabilities and complex physical needs in Lambeth. Demonstrate! has been engaging local children and young people in creative opportunities for over five years through weekend and school holiday projects. Each project includes a performance for the children’s families and invited guests. It is a fully inclusive project, where siblings are welcome to attend.
Demonstrate! is a partnership between Ovalhouse and Corali Dance Company and is commissioned by London Borough of Lambeth Short Breaks Programme. Demonstrate has a large staff team who are skilled in a diverse range of art forms and in working with children and young people with disabilities. Practitioners use a child-centred approach and offer opportunities for the children and young people to work, interact with, and learn from professional artists. Art forms explored so far include dance, drama, photography, puppetry, visual art, music and graffiti.
