The UK’s most delicious spoken word event is back in partnership with Ovalhouse. Hosted by Dean Atta and Deanna Rodger, warmly welcoming audiences from all walks of life to a feast of the finest poets, lyricists and musicians.


Open mic: there are six 3 min slots only - arrive early to secure your spot on the mic.

Starter - Arielle John

An up and coming poet to whet your appetite.

Arielle represented Trinidad and Tobago in the Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam competition and was a finalist in the ‘Speak Green’ environmental poetry competition. Arielle was a member of the Brooklyn College Poetry Slam Team, which placed second in America at the National Inter-College Poetry Slam (CUPSI) in 2013. Author of chapbook ‘Songs in a Strange Land’, Arielle is now developing the manuscript for her first full-length collection of poems.

Main Course - Raymond Antrobus

​A poet to sink teeth into and digest slowly.

Raymond Antrobus is a British-Jamaican poet, performer and educator, born and bred in Hackney, East London. His second pamphlet, To Sweeten Bitter (2017) is published by Out-spoken Press. His debut poetry collection will be published by Penned In The Margins (2018). Raymond is co-curator of popular London poetry event Chill Pill (The Albany).
