Ovalhouse Creative Youth

A Manifesto for the Arts: the next 50 years! Hosted by Dean Atta

Come celebrate and contribute to our young people's vision for the next 50 years of the Arts! Hosted by Dean Atta

  • Wheelchair Access
  • Fri 20 Dec, 7:30pm

Venue: Café gallery

For the past 50 years Ovalhouse has been a home to an incredible range of experimental, radical and overlooked artists seeking to make theatre and performance that speaks to a world beyond the mainstream.

To celebrate this magnificent history we want to hear from the young people who will be the artists and audiences over the next 50 years.

We have sent a call out across London for young people to create a Manifesto for the Arts, and will be celebrating diverse opinions from Young Londoners. There will be a variety of artists presenting their vision for the future of arts using poetry, drama, and spoken word, physical and digital art.

Our Panel:

  • Sabrina Mahfouz, spoken word artist, poet and associate artist at The Bush
  • Matt Trueman, theatre critic and journalist
  • Nancy Grove, Editor of the Guardian Culture Professionals Network
  • Matthew Lyons, Director of membership Chicken Shed
  • Cllr Florence Nosegb, Deputy Cabinet Member Lambeth, Co-operative member and Arts Council representative

Hosted by Dean Atta, prolific London poet and Arts Ambassador

Please join us for our Arts Manifesto Launch and help us raise a glass to the next 50 years of innovative, cutting edge theatre.
