Rhyme and Reason Spoken Word Summer School with Spoken Word Artist Joshua Idehen

Aged 16-25 and interested in poetry, spoken word and performing? Want to take your writing to the next level? Come and join Ovalhouse Creative Youth this summer.

Want to take your writing to the next level?
 

In this friendly, supportive environment you can explore writing for live performance. The week will be facilitated by acclaimed poet and musician Joshua Idehen who will offer creative guidance and feedback on your writing. Poets, MCs, spoken word artists are all welcome. For both new-on-the-scene enthusiasts and MC connoisseurs. All participants will perform at our Summer School Performance THE BURN on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 September. 
Joshua Idehen is founder of the highly acclaimed poetry group A Poem Between People and leader of ‘fro-funk band Benin City. He’s also promoter of some of the coolest London poetry/music nights- 10kk and poejazzi.

Age: 16 – 25 years
Price: £20 for the two weeks (£10 for residents of Hyde, Metropolitan and L&Q housing)​​

HOW TO BOOK
There are 20 places for this course. You must be available for all the sessions and performance dates.
All welcome but priority given to residents of Hyde, Metropolitan and L&Q housing.
