"Seke Chimutengwende's performance...is a collaboration of contemporary dance and monologue. The passionate presentation of his story came across to the audience, with his imaginative movements and powerful dialogue." One Stop Arts

Not for the last time in her life Amaara finds herself packing a suitcase for a distant land. Shield is about the intertwining of personal history and world history; from Sri Lanka, to Australia, to London, Amaara Raheem and company take you on a vivid world journey told through vignettes of film and dance. Set to an original score, written and performed live by Tobia Sturmer: With fabulous, compelling percussion and a set made of silk, Shield is a beautiful expression  of the notion of home, exploration, love and communication.

"Raheem’s work contains a quiet beauty that doesn't hide from difficult questions, but rather moves them into the body, simultaneously conveying rawness and profound craft."
Bronwyn Lay, Creative Director Australia Festival/Festival Australie, France 2012
