A unique chance to come view and handle some of the Polynesian collections held in the Cumings Museum in south London: no need to worry about any taniwha lurking around on the night as we will also have some charms and curios from the Lovett collection of London Superstitions, a fascinating insight into the superstitious beliefs and popular customs of Londoners at the turn of the 19th Century. Oral histories both local and from the South Seas associated with the collections will be shared on the night by Chris Roberts and Rosanna Raymond.
