Youth Mentoring and Support Worker is a new post that provides pastoral, mentoring and participant support and liaison to deliver an exciting mental health and arts programme working across Lambeth and Southwark until 2021. This role is all about bringing youth engagement and care, energy, and safeguarding know-how to an exciting project, set to support 48 young women with specific mental health support needs.
You will work across the Imagining Futures Project to support the advocacy, pastoral and support needs of the young people who attend, alongside the project manager, lead artists and psychologists enabling them to participate in the programme
If you are experienced in supporting youth led practice and young people’s mental health and wellbeing programmes, we would love to hear from you.
This is the ideal position for an organised, people-person with experience of youth work practices in nurturing and supportive environments. We are looking for someone to work in a collaborative workplace learning from, with, and among smart, interesting and fun professionals. Someone with a genuine passion for supporting young people and a desire to be hands-on and have direct contact with young people.
You should be emotionally stable, compassionate and patient when working with vulnerable young women. You must be trustworthy and relate to and work well with at risk young women. Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are important.
