Blackout by Synergy Theatre Project

by Davey Anderson | Directed by Esther Baker

Imagine you wake up and you’re in a jail cell.  You go up to the door.  You bang your fists.  Screaming.  Shouting.  What am I doing in here?

  • Tues 13 – Sat 17 March 7.45pm (Wed – Fri 1pm matinees)

Running time: 30 mins plus Q&A with the creative team after each show

Venue: Upstairs

Please note that, regrettably, the upstairs theatre is not currently accessible for wheelchair users.

15 year-old James wakes up in a prison cell and can’t remember how he got there...

Blackout is a hard-hitting play about getting bullied, fighting back, trying to make a name for yourself, turning vicious, doing something stupid, losing everything, then finding your way again.

Blackout is performed by a company of professional and ex-prisoner actors.

'It's as technically adroit and inflamed a piece as I've seen all year, funny and shockingly frank… a 75-minute slice of first class theatre.' - What’s On Stage on Girls Like That

'It deserves to be widely seen by teenage audiences.  And by their parents too, who will probably flinch.' - The Guardian on Girls Like That
