“I am afraid that the girl has experienced some difficulty in this part of the world with the public making remarks about her colour. I believe through this she has developed a different outlook on life.”
The Society of Waifs and Strays

In 1914 Yorkshire, a child is raised at the centre of a growing storm. With the men away, a village of women grow to love and loathe the unusual child in their midst.

Carried on a haunting original score inspired by British folk music, Fosterling is the true story of Elsa, as told by her daughter, granddaughter and a cast of twenty singers.
