"No, sir, man, nobody sent me round from the Commission of Racial Equality as a practical joke"
The ABORTIVE ARTISTS present a timely revival of Michael Hastings' startling monologue FULL FRONTAL.
Gabriel Nkoke, a Nigerian man raised in Britain, decides to become a member of the British National Party. When he arrives at the local branch office to collect his membership card, neither his charm nor his racism will get him accepted. But why is he there in the first place?
A real black comedy with a sting in the tail, FULL FRONTAL examines questions of race and racism in Britain in a disarmingly funny and dangerously direct way. In a reworking which takes account of recent riots in Oldham and Leeds, this production of FULL FRONTAL draws a parallel between the racial tensions of the 1970s and those of 2001.
FULL FRONTAL is written by Michael Hastings who has himself revised the play twenty years after its first production. Recipient of many awards including an Emmy, the Evening Standard Comedy of the Year, and a BAFTA, he is best known for his screenplay Tom & Viv.
