Splinters by Amy Draper

A young man meets an elderly woman. One is trying to remember. The other is desperate to forget.

Splinters is a brand new piece of theatre in development tackling big questions head on.

This event is part of the FiRST BiTES season
  • Wed 12 Feb – Sat 15 Feb, 8:00pm

How much are we defined by our memories? What happens when we lose them? What is the science of memory?

"I strongly believe that mental illness needs to be talked about more openly. Following on from plays such as Really Old, Like 45 at the National and Melanie Wilson’s Autobiographer, I am hoping to explore these ideas in my own theatrical way using live music, dance and dialogue."

Further developing ideas explored in an initial workshop at Ovalhouse last July, this showing aims to be beautiful, funny, thought-provoking and poignant.

Amy Draper (director), Darren Clark (composer/lyricist/performer), James Huntrods (writer)
Ele Slade (designer), Paul Jellis (producer)
Performed by: H Plewis, Emma Drysdale, Fiona Watson, Hugo Bolton, Ellie Dickens and Blanche Dubois.
